The June 14, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary meeting was called to order by President Carl Thome at 6:45pm who gave the Invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Prior to dinner being served we inducted our latest member Stephen R. Cere, Financial Planner with Merrill Lynch in Naples. Following the Installation ceremony dinner was served. Our guest speaker was our own member and President Nominee Adonni Kinkkos who gave an excellent presentation on what a "First Responder" must do and the latest technology and equipment required to perform. He demonstrated the latest equipment for heart attack and how to perform the "shock". After Adonni's presentation questions and answers were given by interested club members. President Carl discussed the latest local happenings as well as happenings in the District. Meeting was adjourned at 8:25pm.

June 7, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting

The June 7, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting was called to order at Pate's Resturant at Ramada Inn in downtown Naples, Florida by President Carl Thome. After Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance President Carl inducted our newest member Daryl Alvaranga, Financial Sales Manager, Citizens Bank; and he was warmly welcomed into our club. Following dinner President Carl introduced our speaker, James C. French, Director, Collier County Growth Management Division, Palnning & Regulation, and Operations & Regulatory Management. James discussed the latest happenings in his Collier County Division and the significant cost cutting and positive results he has been able to accomplish. After his excellent presentation there were numerous question and positive feedback from all club members present. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25pm.

Sea Salt Naples Sunset Rotary Fund Raiser May 23, 2012

The Sea Salt Naples Sunset Rotary Fund Raiser was an excellent success with providing wine and cheese with a silent auction of many fine items. All were extremely pleased with both the turnout as well as the funds received for our various charities. Excellent job by all! Plans are in motion to continue this Fund Raiser theme on a quarterly basis .... stay tuned for additional information and upcoming dates!

May 17, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting

The May 17, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting was called to order by Immediate PastPast President (IPP) and Assistant Governor Marcus P. Zillman. George Leamon gave the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. After dinner our own club member Adonni Kinkkois presented and excellent presentation of Army Insigna and its true meanings. Actual Insigna were displayed and passed around to club members. After his fine presentation there were numerousd questions and answers. The meeting was adjourned by IPP Marcus at 8:15pm.

May 10, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting

The May 10, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary meeting was called to order by President Carl Thome at 6:45PM at Bistro 821. Following the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance President Carl discussed upcoming events including our May 23rd (Wednesday) fund raiser at SeaSalt on Third. President Carl inducted our newest member Bill Towers, Principal of Precast Keystone in Naples, Florida. We was cordially welcomed by all attending members. Adonni Kinkkos introduced our speaker Matt Chester, Special Agent Bomb Technician with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I) with offices in Naples. Matt discussed his 22 years of service with the F.B.I. as well as discussed the latest happenings and current priorities of the Bureau. After the very interesting and informative presentation questions and answers were taken from club members. The club adjourned at 8:20 PM.

May 3, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting


The May 3, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting was called to order at Bistro 821 at 6:45PM by President Carl Thome. President Carl gave the Invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. After dinner President Carl discussed the latest District and local Rotary happenings including upcoming Area 1 and 2 President's Meeting. Adonni Kinkkos introduced our speaker Bryan Barringer, State Officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Officer Bryan discussed his duties and gave the club an excellent powerpoint presentation on the Commission and it various regulations. After his presentation there was a lengthy question and answer session. President Carl also announced that there will be a board meeting at 5:30pm before next weeks meeting. The club was adjourned at 8:05PM.

April 26, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting

The April 26, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting was called to order at 6:45PM by President Carl Thome at the Ramada private dining room in downtown Naples, Florida. The Invocation was led by President Carl and followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. After a delightful dinner President Carl gave the club members updates on all local and district activities. Adoni Kokkinos, President Nominee introduced our guest speaker James A Calamari, Deputy Commander and Safety Officer for FL2 DMAT/NDMS. James discussed the various assignments he has participated in and how his emergency group are the first responders at emergency situations and disasters trough the country. After his fine presentation club members were allowed to ask a number of questions. The Naples Sunset Rotary club was adjourned at 8:10pm. The next meeting will be held back at our normal location of Bistro 821 in downtown Naples.

April 19, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting

The April 19, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting was called to order by President Carl Thome at 6:45pm at Bistro 81 in downtown Naples, Florida; followed the Invocation by President Thome and Pledge of Allegiance. After dinner President Carl introduced guests and visiting Rotarians followed by the Sgt of Arms collecting a number of fines and asking a number of questions and then collecting fines! President Nominee Adoni Kokkinos introduced our speaker Daniel J. Warren, Special Agent Supervisor for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement who discussed in detail his State of Florida government entity and the latest happenings with regards to his department. After his extrememly interesting presentation it was followed by a lengthy question and answer period. The club adjourned at 8:20pm.

April 12, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary and Annual Raffle

The April 12, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary was called to order by President Carl Thome at 6:30pm. Following the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance both led by President Carl, dinner was served to a full house with standing room only. The meeting was our annual Raffle drawing to benefit a number of Charities in and around Collier County, Florida. After dinner and Annual Naples Sunset Rotary Raffle started and the tickets were drawn. Winners for the Raffle were announced and a very good time was had by all. Meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm.

April 5, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Club Meeting


The April 5, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Club meeting was called to order by President Carl Thome at 6:45pm. President Carl gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. After dinner President Carl gave us updates on all district and local activities including our upcoming April 12, 2012 Raffle. Visiting Rotarian Pascal Boissy from Nice, France presented our club with his club banner. Rotarian Pascal and his wife were visiting Naples for the last week and decided to have dinner at our club. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm.

March 29, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting


The March 29, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting was called to order at Bistro 821 by President Carl Thome who gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Following dinner President Carl gave us updates on the upcoming District 6960 workshop as well as updates on our club fund raiser raffle being held on April 12, 2012. Following a brief discussion President Nominee Adoni Kokkinos introduced our speaker Mark Scarola, Volunteer with the Shy Wolf Sanctuary Education and Experience Center. He presented the truth about wolves, wolfdogs, big cats, foxes, tortoises and prairie dogs through his photographs and personal experience as a volunteer. The Shy Wolf Sanctuary is a Florida Non-Profit 501(c)(3) and is county, state, and federally licensed and inspected. It is 100% volunteer and donor supported. The March 22, 2011 Naples Sunset Rotary meeting was called to order by President Carl Thome who gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. After a Bistro 821 dinner President Carl gave the updates and latest happenings including updates on our upcoming Raffle April 12, 2012. Our speaker for the evening was Jack Tymann who presented a powerful PowerPoint slide show highlighting the latest causes and affects of the economy and what is needed to correct many serious deficiencies. Jack was well received by our members with many questions for his excellent presentation. Meeting was adjourned at 8:10pm

March 15, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary Meeting


The March 15, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary meeting was called to order by President Carl Thome at 6:35pm followed with the Invocation and Pledge Allegiance. Following dinner guests were introduced and President Carl discussed the latest district and local happenings. PETS training was discussed as well as upcoming fund raising events for the club. President Nominee Adoni Kokkinos introduced our guest speaker Tiffany R. Kuehner, President and CEO of Naples based Hope for Haiti. At 15 years old, Tiffany’s first trip to Haiti started a passion for the same country to which her grandmother has dedicated her life. Graduating from Georgetown University in Women’s Studies with a specific focus on International Development, Tiffany has spent time working on poverty and gender issues in the U.S., China, Thailand, Tanzania, Uganda, and Haiti. Now, having returned from living in Haiti, Tiffany is based in Naples, Florida, but continues to work closely with Hope for Haiti's programming team, traveling frequently to Les Cayes. In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys photography, dancing, celebrating life with family and friends, and cooking with her husband. Naples is extremely proud of this local organization that has raised millions of dollars for Haiti relief!! Additional information is available by clicking here. The March 1, 2012 Naples Sunset Rotary meeting was called to order by President Carl Thome with the Invocation and Pledge Allegiance. Following dinner President Carl discussed the various happenings with Rotary District 6960 and its upcoming events as well as continued activities with the Naples Sunset Rotary Raffle on April 12, 2012. Additional fund raisers for the club were discussed and the May 24th date was mentioned for the next event after the Raffle. Club was adjourned at 8pm.
